Happy 1st Birthday!!!

My sweet baby girl Josie B turned one-year-old!!!  I honestly can’t believe where this past year went, possibly the fastest year of my life.  It’s been amazing and I can’t imagine our life without her.  She is pure joy and the sweetest little girl.  She is curious, snuggly, a conversationalist and just plain adorable!  I’m so proud to be her mommy.  We love you to pieces baby girl!!!

We had a small family party and Josie’s friend Connor.  It was a lunchtime BBQ in the backyard.  We spent the day eating, napping, playing, crawling, smashing cake, enjoying the first taste of frosting and laughing.  Although she had no idea what was really going on, she loved every minute of it.

On her actual birthday, one week ago today, she enjoyed a very long morning nap, playing at the kids area at the mall followed by more napping and out for dinner with Mom and Dad.  She ate more adult food than she ever has before, I’m pretty sure she knew it was her birthday.  When we got home she had one more cupcake to finish the day, mainly frosting.

Josie was spoiled with gifts and they are still arriving!  This little one, which is a completely coincidence, she has been playing with for SEVEN-DAYS, no joke!!!

She has a fresh wardrobe of clothing for this summer, which is washed and ready to wear.  Some toys, walkers, wagons you push/pull, have not been touched.  She has no interest in moving those little legs forward in a walking motion.  They, some day, will be fun to play with!

…and finally, what you’ve all been waiting for, pictures of our adorable little girl on her big day, cake and all!

It's my birthday

This girl LOVES paper/cards

ooh, for me?

Mother's day, my first and forever more

It was a wonderful day.  Josie came card in hand first thing, she is so thoughtful.  We had my mom and Kelly over for brunch which turned out to be more in the lunch hour.  The rest of the normal attendees were out of town.  Kyle, Josie and I spent the rest of the day hanging out together.  I love my little family!

Mother's day was a day that we celebrated my mom, her strength, kindness, selflessness and love.  I have a different perspective of Mother's day this year.  My mom is an incredible mom and I hope to be as wonderful a mom as she is.

Everything in the mouth at 11 months

It's a great resource...a carrying tool, it makes noise and some things taste better than others.  An afternoon in Josie's world...
"I got the remote..." {A daily goal!}

Carrying a foam cow

Chewing on the foam cow

Chewing on Mom's crocs.  I've contacted Crocs about making teething toys

afternoon tea

One of my all-time favorites

Josie's in a new phase where she gets food on her hands, then rubs her face and hair then onto her pjs.  I know this is all too common, but laundry and a bath on a nightly bases is not my idea of fun.  So...she was eating in just a diaper for a few nights until this phase passed.  I absolutely LOVE this picture...
