Labor Day Weekend

This is one of my favorite weekends in Aspen!  We have spent Labor Day in Aspen for years.  It's a beautiful time of year, on the brink of fall, and the end of the summer tourist season.  There also happens to be a HUGE volleyball tournament The Mother Lode Volleyball Classic for all levels of players and it's so fun to watch.  We have followed some of the girls professional teams for years.  There is definitely a new generation of players since we first started following these teams.

This year was a little different, in that Kel and Dan came up on Sunday because Dan had a friend in town and Kyle has to work, so he didn't come at all.  It was Josie, mom and me for the first few days.  The weather we warm during the day and really chilly at night.  Mom, Josie and I had a late dinner Friday night at Zocolito and enjoyed live music on the patio.  Josie slept the entire time...it's the mountain air!

We shopped as usual, watched volleyball and walked the Rio Grande Trail every morning.  It's the best trail, paved for the first two miles and then it's gravel.  It's such a good workout..especially since I have a few more lbs to drop!  Saturday morning we went to the farmers market and tried a new locally owned burger place called 520 Grill.  It's awesome and affordable!  Kel and Dan arrived and we had to do happy hour at The Cantina...somewhere we always stop when in town.  We also tried a new restaurant, The Wild Fig, new to us it's been there for years and now we know why.  It was SO good, and it just may get on the rotation!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend

If you're in Aspen...hit this place up!  Great burgers!
