Dreaming of an office in the basement
These pictures will show you why I'm very anxious to have an office in the basement, where little hands can't get a hold of everything! 300 postcards scattered on the floor, I had to laugh.
First snow of the year
This isn't Josie's first snow, but it's the first snow that she was curious about! She wanted to look outside and watch all the white stuff fall. Yesterday we headed outside after being cooped up for a couple of days and she went right for it...the water draining from the roof, the snow, she was soaked!
Those little hands were FREEZING, but she wouldn't let go of the snowball in her hand and continued to play in the ice cold water. Guess I need to get some waterproof attire!

She be-lined it to the water... |

A gorgeous fall day
This was the first real taste of fall we had, about two weeks ago. We had a great time playing outside, she loves being outside with her rocks, sticks and leaves! As you'll see, we started with a toy and she quickly left it behind for outdoor "toys".

Pumpkin Patch
I love fall, it means cool weather, warm drinks and pumpkins {except this year, it's been crazy warm, like 80...boo}. Kelly, my sis, has an October 30th birthday and we ALWAYS had a super fun birthday party for her because it was close to Halloween. It's not so much Halloween that I like, more her birthday which makes me want to have a party and make yummy treats.
I also love carving pumpkins. I'm not really interested in getting my gooey, but this is the one time it doesn't bother me. I find my design, get out my 'pumpkin carving tools' and bake those delicious seeds. Needless to say, Josie and I made a trip to the pumpkin patch with some friends, about 15 other moms and kiddos. Josie was more interested in the sticks, rocks and eating the dirt...what's new?! I picked out pumpkins for the family along with a couple of baking pumpkins to fill our friends and family's bellies with pumpkin goodies!

Aerated "brownie"
Math story problem for today: title of this post + the picture = eating more dirt!
Yes, you guessed it, that little pellet that is left after you have the yard aerated. Good heavens, I can't take my eyes off this girl. I'm sure it looked like a Josie sized brownie, just sitting there in the grass. I nearly died. Once again, we washed it down with some water.
Striving to be a better mom...

Eating with a spoon
The Dr asked me if Josie was eating with a spoon/fork. I said “no” {bad mommy}. As if meals aren’t messy enough. After her suggestion, we gave Josie a spoon. She loves it, although it’s rare that food
actually makes it to her mouth, unless it’s something that sticks to the spoon,
like yogurt. Pure excitement when she
sees her spoon!

First haircut
Those little curls that I love just needed a trimming. We headed over for her first haircut and I had no idea what the event would be like, would she scream? Would I have to hold her in the chair?
We decided the pink airplane was suitable. Plopped her in the plane, showed her how to "drive" and she was flying. She chatted, in her 16 month old babble, to the stylist like she was catching her up on the latest in her life. Too funny!

Rocks, sticks oh my!
Josie loves rocks, sticks, leaves…who needs toys? She finds rocks and puts them on the milk
box, then hands them to me, then picks them up again, then in her mouth…you get the
picture?! Love her curiosity, but I'm so over that everything goes in her mouth!! Today it was dirt clump, which looks like a rock...she had dirt crumbs on her top lip, YUCK! At any rate she loves rocks and sticks, they are so entertaining.
notice the middle rock was in someone's mouth... |
This is for you |
tastes delicious |
just testing this one to make sure it's okay |
